HARTFORD — With talent and experience sprinkled throughout their roster, the Manchester Monarchs were the best team in the American Hockey League this season.
The Los Angeles Kings' affiliate had two of the top three scorers in the league. As a team, the Monarchs were among the league leaders in scoring and were second in fewest goals allowed.
As the Hartford Wolf Pack began their Eastern Conference final series against the Monarchs, they knew what they were up against. This would be an elite opponent, so there was no margin for error.
