Sharks sign free agent Joel Ward

SAN JOSE, Calif. The Sharks added a power forward to their roster Friday, signing unrestricted free agent Joel Ward to a three-year contract worth a reported $9.825 million. Ward, 34, had 19 goals and 15 assists in 82 games last season for the Washington Capitals, with whom he played 276 games over the last four seasons. In an eight-year NHL career, the 6-foot-1, 225-pound Ward has 97 goals and 123 assists in 517 games.
