Dale Tallon still a fan of scouting in age of analytics in hockey

Dressed in matching pink polo shirt and hat, Dale Tallon enjoyed several hours of relative calm and anonymity Wednesday in Highland Park.

On the same day Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player and the NHL Board of Governors approved an expansion franchise in Las Vegas, Tallon was among 90 golfers competing in a U.S. Senior Open qualifier at Northmoor Country Club.

The former Blackhawks player, broadcaster and general manager failed to qualify, shooting a 5-over-par 76 to finish tied for 40th.
