On The Fly: Mets Nervous About Familia's Use In World Baseball Classic

The World Baseball Classic is an acquired taste; either you love it or you don't think twice about it. But it's also true that many executives and major league managers aren't thrilled with loaning their stars to the event for fear they might be injured. This has caused problems for Dominican Republic manager Tony Pena in his use of Mets closer Jeurys Familia. Some Mets officials feel Pena has overused Familia, who saved 51 games last season. The Mets apparently complained, with one source telling the New York Daily News that "it's been addressed."
