New-Look Hartford Wolf Pack Loses Season Opener, 5-4

Although the Wolf Pack are primarily in the business of player development, the New York Rangers decided after last season, one in which Hartford finished last in a league with almost as many teams as there are states, that winning has equal appeal.

So in the offseason, the Rangers aggressively shuffled the deck, relieving Ken Gernander of his coaching duties, hiring his assistant Keith McCambridge to replace him and promoting former NHL star Chris Drury to Wolf Pack general manager.
