Wolf Pack Can't Get By Thunderbirds' Goalie In 2-0 Loss

The Wolf Pack outshot the Thunderbirds 32-23 on Saturday night at the MassMutual Center, but could not beat goaltender Mike McKenna, who got his first shutout of the season in a 2-0 Springfield win.

Chase Balisy's first-period power-play goal was the only offense the Thunderbirds would need, and Dryden Hunt scored an empty-net goal late. Brandon Halverson made 21 saves in the Hartford net.

"Maybe you deserve a better fate on some nights, but that's just the game of hockey," Wolf Pack captain Mat Bodie said. "We couldn't find that equalizer. I thought guys were putting a lot of pucks and traffic to the net, and bounces just weren't going our way."...
