HALLANDALE — Growing pains kept Sky Flight from making the major derbies for 3-year-olds in the spring and summer. But he was ready for the final one, The Tropical Park Derby. Patiently ridden by Jose Lezcano, Sky Flight closed from toward the back of the 12-horse field to wear down front-running Cement Clement by a length in Saturday's $75,000 feature at Gulfstream Park. Smooth Daddy, the 5-2 favorite, was a length further back in third.
