Steve Jacobs of Linthicum woke up at 5 a.m. last Friday morning because he had some business to attend to before heading to work as an analyst at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. That business was a 22 mile run, which he was planning to run at a steady clip of between six and seven minutes per mile.
