Mother-Daughter Team Nourishes Woodstock Academy Gymnasts

When Robin Deary Fillmore was 12 years old, she would tell anybody who would listen that when she grew up, she was going to open a gymnastics club and be a coach.

And she did. In 1982, freshly graduated from Southern Connecticut, Deary Fillmore bought a gym in Brooklyn. She was there for 17 years, then moved to the old brick armory in Killingly, where Deary's Gymnastics has been ever since.

Although she wanted to have a club, it was important for her to have high school gymnastics too. So in 1986, Deary Fillmore started a team at Killingly High. A few years later, she started one at Woodstock Academy with the girls who went to her gym.
