Looks like it's going to be all downhill for skiers and snowboarders in New England this winter.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting arctic blasts and above-normal snowfall — which means the ski season should start early and run late. But lift tickets, lessons, gear, lodging and meals can be expensive — especially if you're getting the whole family out on the slopes.

Book a ski and stay vacation though, and you can save money — and get a variety of perks, such as free clinics, equipment rentals and kids' activities, as well.

Just about every ski area offers combo lodging and lift deals. Most are based on availability and black-out dates can apply. Prices can change; and many do not include taxes and service fees, so be sure to check details before booking.
