Obi Melifonwu will have to wait just a little longer to learn where his professional football career will begin.
He was not among the 32 players selected in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday night in Philadelphia.
Melifonwu, a safety out of UConn, is virtually certain to be selected in the second round when the draft resumes Friday at 6:55 p.m. The third round will also take place Friday, and rounds 4-7 are Saturday.
