Redskins hopeful RG3 can return this season

ASHBURN, Va. -- The good news for the Washington Redskins is that quarterback Robert Griffin III's dislocated left ankle is free of fractures and torn ligaments that could have ended Griffin's season.

The bad news is the ankle will be put in a cast for “a couple weeks” and the 2012 NFL Rookie of the Year will miss an unspecified period of time before being evaluated again for a possible return this season.
