Nebraska QB Tanner Lee skipping senior year for NFL draft

Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee will skip his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft.

The move was not unexpected in the wake of coach Mike Riley's firing and Scott Frost's hiring.

"After weeks of prayer and consideration with my family, I've decided to enter the NFL Draft and pursue an opportunity that I feel is the best for myself and my family at this time," Lee said in a Twitter post on Thursday.

Lee won the starter's job last spring after sitting out 2016 following his transfer from Tulane. He completed 57.5 percent of his passes for 3,143 yards, with 23 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, as the Huskers finished 4-8.
