Cutler's injury a blessing and a kick in the groin
If you had to vote on which opponent Jay Cutler should miss for any reason, it would be the Packers. So, the Bears should have that going for them on Monday night. That would appear to be the only thing the Bears have going for them Monday night....

His heart is with the Bears and his liver comes from the Packers
Peter Cashman's heart is with the Bears. But his liver is with the Packers. The 58-year-old Cashman was living in Chicago in 2010 and made national news when word broke out that this longtime Bears season ticket holder's life was saved by a Packer fan...

Bears reality: Run the ball or get run over
Perhaps the only Bears playmaker who has made fewer plays against the Packers than quarterback Jay Cutler has been running back Matt Forte. Which is not good news for a team that doesn’t have Cutler -- for this week, at least, depending on who you...
  • Light touch helps keep game in perspective

The intersection between serious, down-to-earth business and relaxed, carefree fun in professional football often becomes congested and confusing. As the Bears prepare to face the Packers on Monday night in Green Bay, we all are guilty of over-analyzing...

Trash-talk your way through the Bears' woes
Despite Brandon Marshall's super-strong best-friend hopes for Jay Cutler's recovery, the quarterback will miss Monday's tilt at Lambeau. He'll miss the next week against Detroit, too, and the Bears' playoff hopes will be all but over because of...

Daylight saving time ended this weekend, which leaves us bracing for four months of early sunsets. The Bears are also entering their own traditional period of darkness, which this year involves a groin injury to Jay Cutler and a still-aging and still-...
  • Sit, Jay

    Sit, Jay
I can’t think of one good reason for Jay Cutler to come back as early as Sunday. Unless he can tackle and play safety. Cutler’s torn groin reportedly was magically healing to the point that he would play against the Lions only two weeks...

Bears have shown they have 2 effective QBs
After the season, the "Jay Cutler Effect" will be measured properly and perhaps even a bit embellished. In the short term, the impact of his rapid return from a torn left groin muscle will be evaluated as he plays Sunday against the Lions when the Bears...

What you know about the Bears CAN hurt you
Sometimes I wish I didn't know anything about football. Because if I didn't, I might have enjoyed Sunday's two-point disaster against Detroit. I might even be smiling now, just like the bartender who served me and my friends during the game. For...
  • Nooooo! Too many Bears lows against Detroit

Nooooo! Too many Bears lows against Detroit
In the end, the Bears' scrappy effort wasn’t enough. "It was really a day of missed opportunities," coach Marc Trestman said. Settling for a field goal. Costly penalties. They were just part of the equation in Sunday’s 21-19 loss to...
  • Bears' Jay Cutler will miss game against Ravens; Charles Tillman placed on injured reserve

The Chicago Bears are officially banged-up heading into Sunday's game against the Ravens at Soldier Field. The Bears placed cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman on injured reserve-designated to return with a triceps injury, which means he's out for at...
