Running 40 yards in a straight line seems simple enough, unless you're Charlie Dowdle.
A 2012 graduate of Loyola and a Glenview native, Dowdle is doing everything he can to gain an edge and get noticed by NFL scouts.
"I never thought it could be so complicated," Dowdle said of the foot race.
For years, talent evaluators have used the 40-yard dash to determine whether or not prospects are worthy of playing in the league.
