Drury, Corto Receive Walter Camp Honors

NEW HAVEN — Southington nearly completed a sweep of high school football awards from the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Saturday. The Blue Knights, who won the CIAC Class LL-Large title last month, took coach of the year honors at the Camp Breakfast of Champions, then received team of the year recognition at the awards dinner at Yale, claiming the Joseph W. Kelly Award. Southington had a player of the year finalist as well in junior quarterback Jasen Rose, but the award went to Shelton QB Mark Piccirillo.
