Miami Dolphins release Pro Bowl punter Brandon Fields

The Miami Dolphins have released punter Brandon Fields as they trimmed the roster to 75 players by Tuesday's league deadline. Fields, a Pro Bowl selection in 2013, has been the Dolphins' punter since 2007, when they selected the Michigan State product in the seventh round of the draft. This offseason the Dolphins restructured Fields' contract, lowing his base salary to $1.65 million to create some salary cap flexibility. But they also added Matt Darr, and the undrafted rookie from Tennessee has had some impressive punts in the preseason.
