3. Elvis Dumervil deal is a reminder that Ravens' offseason has just begun

Would you march out of a movie theater seven minutes into the feature presentation because there weren’t enough explosions for your liking? Would you take a couple nibbles out of a grilled cheese sandwich, only to send it back to the kitchen because, for whatever reason, you were hoping it would taste more like lobster? Would you sell the big, brand-new house you just moved into because you found a leak in your basement?

5. Suggs is saving the talk for the season

The new general of the Ravens defense had been quiet ever since the team won the Super Bowl in early February. Terrell Suggs was silent as top young linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger signed lucrative contracts elsewhere, and the older...

11. After Elvis Dumervil signing, Ravens fans can stop whining

Maybe now some of the Ravens fans will stop whining.
The Baltimore Sun
Maybe now some of the Ravens fans will stop whining. Oh, they let Ed Reed go, they let Dannell Ellerbe go, they let Paul Kruger go, they cut Bernard Pollard ... Whine, whine, whine ... The entire time I kept saying the Ravens were making the right...

13. Instant Analysis on the Ravens' signing of Elvis Dumervil

Jeff Zrebiec, reporter: You knew at some point the Ravens would strike in the free agent market, and they did in a big way Sunday night, agreeing in principle on a five-year deal with Elvis Dumervil. With both of their starting inside linebackers, one of their starting corners and both their starting safeties gone from last year, the Ravens obviously still have some work to do. But they have helped their run defense with the addition of Chris Canty and Marcus Spears and their pass rush could be scary with Dumervil and the healthy trio of Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata and Pernell McPhee. The way the deal is structured will still leave the Ravens with about $5 million of salary cap. You'd have to look long and hard to find a downside to this deal. When Dumervil takes his physical and signs his contract Tuesday, the Ravens will automatically become a far more dangerous defense.

15. Ravens news, notes and opinions on Orioles, Ed Reed, Bryant McKinnie and more

As the Orioles and Ravens try to work out a scheduling conflict that has put in jeopardy the NFL’s hopes of opening up the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 5 at M&T Bank Stadium, the relationship between the two downtown neighbors has again come under scrutiny. That’s a shame because over the past year or so, the synergy between the Orioles and Ravens never appeared better. Ravens players wore cartoon bird hats and frequently brought up the Orioles during their playoff run. When the Orioles played the New York Yankees at home in Game 2 of their playoff series, half the Ravens’ roster was at Camden Yards.

17. Ed Reed agrees to a deal with the Houston Texans

For so long, they had been the two faces of one of the league’s most dominant defenses, Ray Lewis the punishing tackler and Ed Reed the unrelenting ball hawk. Now, they are both gone and the mass exodus from the Ravens defense continues.

23. Terrell Suggs is last leader left standing on Ravens 'D'

Can’t wait for the Ravens’ first defensive team meeting in the upcoming minicamps, when coordinator Dean Pees hands out those little plastic name tags that say: “Hi, my name is _ _ _ _" and each player has to stand and tell the others a little bit about himself.
