Obi Melifonwu was born in London to Nigerian parents, he was raised in Grafton, Mass., and he made a football name for himself in Storrs.
Now Henry William Obiajulu Melifonwu is headed to Oakland, and eventually Las Vegas, to pull a black and silver jersey over his pads and play on Sundays.
Melifonwu, a four-year starter at safety for UConn, was selected by the Raiders with the 24th pick in the second round of the NFL draft, 56th overall, Thursday in Philadelphia.
