  • READER SUBMITTED: Pomfret School to Hold Revolution Hockey Camp August 3 - 6

    Revolution Field Hockey Camps will be holding a pre-season camp at Pomfret School in Pomfret from August 3 - 6. The four-day workout, run by elite coaches with a creative curriculum, is for players aged 10 - 18, and is intended to give them a competitive edge going into the fall field hockey season. A residential camp, the overnight program is $535, while the Extended Day program is $435. Beginners are welcome. Julie Ginsberg, head coach at Smith College, is the program director. She has obtained her USA Field Hockey Level I & Level II coaching certification. After three wins in her first season (2007), she led her team to seven wins the following season (2008) and qualified for the NEWMAC quarterfinals. For her performance she was named Smith College Coach of the Year and five of her players received post-season conference honors. Pomfret School Head Coach Louisa Jones is the site director.
