Story | Dec 22, 2014No. 14 Maryland cruised past host Coppin State, 110-51, in women's basketball on Sunday, with six Terps scoring in double figures in their final nonconference game. Junior Brene Moseley led Maryland with 18 points, eight assists and three steals. Sophomore Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 17 points, four assists and three steals. Freshman Kiara Leslie scored 13, sophomore Brionna Jones (Aberdeen) and redshirt freshman A'Lexus Harrison (Digital Harbor) had 12 each, and senior Laurin Mincy scored 10. Junior Amber Griffin led Coppin State (1-9) with 10 points. "It's important to us to continue to play the way we want to play and to set the bar really high," coach Brenda Frese said. "For us, this game and our last game against American have been two complete games that are going to help us going forward." Maryland opened the game on a 7-0 run, thanks to two early buckets by Jones, and led 19-7 with just under 12 minutes left in the half. The Terps closed the half on a 38-13 run to take a 59-25 lead into the break. Maryland hit the 100-point mark for the second time this season off a layup by Harrison with 4:27 to play.
