There was this time when Frank Fabian, head football coach at Armstrong High in Kittanning, Pa., designed what he thought was a nearly perfect play. He turned to his grease board and painstakingly etched the zigs and zags outlining blocking schemes and pass patterns.
Excited to share his new gadget, Fabian turned to his audience. And, as usual, only one of his players had his hand up.
