NEW BRITAIN – The Central Connecticut backfield was always going to bear watching this season. When last season ended, so did the record-setting, three-year career of Rob Hollomon, the program's all-time leading rusher. From Hollomon's shadows and into the spotlight stepped junior Brenden Lytton, the would-be focal point of second-year coach Pete Rossomando's plan for a run-heavy offense. But Lytton, who actually averaged more yards per carry (5.3) last season than Hollomon (4.9), sustained a knee injury in camp that required surgery and will force him to miss this season.
