Cougar ace Trey Cumbie pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits, as Houston advanced to the AAC tournament championship game at Clearwater, Fla., with a 13-3 win over freshman Mason Feole and the Huskies.
The loss eliminates UConn, which has to hope for an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament when the field is announced on Monday.
Feole, the first of six UConn pitchers, lasted 41/3 innings allowing four earned runs.
