Quinnipiac senior midfielder Jess Fontaine dribbled toward the goal, drew the ball back and took one last look at the UMass Lowell net.
She had two options.
Take the shot or pass the ball to her teammate, Madison Borowiec. In the past, Fontaine, a former All-American at Northwest Catholic High in West Hartford, was always ready to find the back of the net. But for the Bobcats the last three years, she had a developed another layer to her game. She has become a top passer.
"Instead of shooting, she drew the keeper and pulled it back for Maddie Borowiec," Quinnipiac coach Dave Clarke said. "Freshman year she probably would've shot. It is her maturity. ......
