On The Fly: Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis No Longer 3-Point Leader

There is no doubt that Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis is the greatest 3-point shooter in the history of UConn women’s basketball. We make this declarative statement because when she graduated, she held the NCAA Division I record for most career 3-pointers with 398. And you figured it was a record that would last a few years. But it didn’t. Ohio State’s Kelsey Mitchell, a first-team All-American, broke Mosqueda-Lewis’ record with about 90 percent of her senior season still to play. Mitchell’s record-setting basket came with 6:41 remaining in the second quarter of the Buckeyes’ 104-62 win over Florida Gulf Coast in the Play4Kay Shootout.
