Central Defense Sets Up 34-0 Win Over Robert Morris

NEW BRITAIN — Pete Rossomando's Central Connecticut State Blue Devils are growing up, but the next few weeks will tell if they are ready to win a Northeast Conference championship.

CCSU stayed on the right path Saturday afternoon, scoring 34 straight points in the second half to beat Robert Morris 34-0 in front of 2,117 fans at Arute Field.

Earlier in the season the Blue Devils (4-5, 3-1 NEC) scored a big conference win against Bryant, but fell flat the following week. Not this time, with the defense forcing six turnovers — the most since a Nov. 8, 2008, game against St. Francis, Pa., which also happened to be CCSU's last shutout.
