ORLANDO, Fla. – Daniel Hamilton got his "alley-oop buddy" back. UConn's backcourt got its "rim-protector" back.

And the Huskies got their "heartbeat" back. Amida Brimah, out since Dec. 12, tapped the scorer's table with his still-healing finger taped to another, and checked in 3½ minutes into UConn's game at Central Florida. The impact was almost immediate.

"When he checked in, I know he was really excited," Shonn Miller said, "but so was everybody else".

Brimah still can't make a fist with his right hand, as the fractured middle finger is still healing, but the Huskies had this game firmly in their grasp...
