Austin Peay baseball coach Gary McClure, the Ohio Valley Conference's all-time leader in wins, has resigned after 27 seasons following his arrest in a prostitution sting.
University officials announced Saturday they accepted McClure's resignation. Assistant Derrick Dunbar has been appointed interim head coach, and president Alisa White said in a statement it was a sad situation for all involved.
McClure had 822 career wins at Austin Peay since taking over as head coach in 1988, and he led the Governors to six NCAA regional appearances.
