Cyclist Jeremy Shirock hopes to put name on Madison Cup at Trexlertown's velodrome

By daytime, he's a civil engineer working out of the PennDOT office in Allentown. But after hours, he's something else entirely. When the workday ends, Jeremy Shirock becomes a beast on a bike, and the 24-year-old from Emmaus proved it at the USA Cycling National Track Championships last month in suburban Los Angeles, winning bronze medals in the omnium and the scratch race. Shirock plans on teaming up with Philadelphia's Nick Rogers to compete in the Madison Cup 7:30 tonight at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown as the World Series of Bicycling and the 40th season of racing comes to a close at the "Concrete Crater."
