Gaining traction on Twitter and elsewhere is the story of Daisha Simmons. She started her basketball career at Rutgers, transferred to Alabama and wanted to transfer to Seton Hall to finish her career as a post-graduate student. The reason: Her brother is very ill and she wants to be with her family in Jersey City, N.J. However, Alabama won't let her transfer, which has a lot of people justifiably upset with the school and the NCAA. ... The U.S. women won their quarterfinal game by 22 points in the FIBA World Championships. That is no surprise when you make 41 of 58 shots from the field. Former UConn player Tina Charles and Brittney Griner each were 7 of 9 from the field. Lindsay Whalen was 6 of 7. ... Five-on-five scrimmages, which ended in 2009, are returning to the NBA draft combine next year, ESPN.com says. Makes sense.
