STORRS — One by one, the senior Huskies came out with their families. Phil Nolan's family was not able to make it from Milwaukee to Gampel Pavilion for his last game, but his teammates filled in en masse.
They rushed out to surround Nolan and hoist his framed jersey.
"It was something they wanted to do," coach Kevin Ollie said. "I don't think Phil wanted it. The guys said, 'We don't care about you Phil; we're going to come out there.' I think it was just a great gesture. Of course, Phil didn't want the attention, but I think he really, really got a nice, warm feeling inside when everybody hugged him."
Nolan had planned to come out with basketball...
