  • Ex-Navy star Billy Hurley III denied first PGA win at Greenbrier Classic

    Former Navy star Billy Hurley III, who had a two-shot lead after three rounds in the Greenbrier Classic, shot a 3-over-par 73 in the final round Sunday and fell to a seven-way tie for fourth at 9-under 271. Hurley took the lead in the second round and shot a 3-under 67 in the third round to extend his lead over Argentina's Angel Cabrera. But Hurley bogeyed four of the first six holes in the final round to fall out of contention for his first PGA Tour win. No third-round leader ever has held on to win the Greenbrier Classic. Cabrera shot a 6-under 64 Sunday to win in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., finishing at 16 under. George McNeill finished second at 14 under, while Webb Simpson was third at 10 under.
