UConn Men Post Dramatic Rise In Graduation Rate

The UConn men’s basketball program made a dramatic jump in Graduation Success Rates released Wednesday by the NCAA.

The Huskies achieved a GSR of 67 percent, triple its mark of a year ago. In the fall of 2013, as UConn was on its way to winning its most recent championship, the program’s graduation rate hit a low of 8 percent. It has risen steadily since.

To calculate GSR, the NCAA considers whether athletes graduate within six years of entering a program. The rates are a four-year rolling average, so athletes who began in 2007 through 2010 are included in the current numbers.
