Hard To Assess If Daniel Hamilton Made Right Move In Leaving UConn — For Now

NEW YORK — Neither player took his coach's advice, regardless of how much he respected the opinion.

When Providence coach Ed Cooley told Kris Dunn a year ago he thought the time was right to go into the NBA draft, Dunn stayed one more year. He wanted to graduate.

And though UConn coach Kevin Ollie advised Daniel Hamilton to stay another year, Hamilton chose to hire an agent and take his chances with the draft after his sophomore year.

On Thursday night, Dunn, 22, was at the Barclays Center with his family and Cooley as commissioner Adam Silver called his name. He was picked fifth by the Timberwolves.
