Dan Hurley was working UConn’s biggest room, the football stadium, on Saturday. No, it wasn’t terribly crowded, but there were people to meet, hands to shake.
Fans recognizing his now-familiar profile walking around the concourse were shouting out, asking for a prediction. His former employer, Rhode Island, was playing his new one. Hurley is not in the prediction business right now; he was just there to say hello, to Rams coach Jim Fleming in particular.
“I respect a guy who builds something from nothing because that’s what it was when he took over there,” Hurley said.
