The need to have an opinion about Patrick Kane weighs heavily on those of us who have none. If Kane were a Columbus Blue Jacket instead of a Chicago Blackhawk, there would be no obligation at all.
All the legal machinery could grind on, as it will in any case, with media alerts and attorney stunts, and we could happily anticipate the coming season of hockey, this being one of those times when the Stanley Cup is still fresh, shiny and nearby.
