Hartford Holds Off Central In Double-Overtime

NEW BRITAIN — For two teams in search of an identity, it was an ideal way to start the season.

The Hartford Hawks and Central Connecticut Blue Devils both entered the season with an array of questions after losing important players from last season. As they opened the season with a matchup in the nightcap of the Connecticut 6 Classic, the teams were looking to set a tone.

What did they learn after 40 minutes of regulation and two five-minute overtime periods? One thing was clear: Hartford and Central are scrappy, relentless teams, and each possesses a bit of swagger.
