Former UConn star and Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker won the third NBA Eastern Conference player of the week award in his career for Jan. 18-24. Walker led the Eastern Conference in points per game (34.8), field goals made (11.3), and free throw percentage (.923, 36-for-39). Included in the monster week was a career-best 52 points against Utah on Jan. 18. That set a Hornets' franchise record surpassing the 48 by Glen Rice vs. the Celtics in 1997.
