TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — As practice ended at the MSG Training Center Thursday, the members of the U.S. national women's basketball team broke into clusters.
At each hoop, two or three players shot baskets. Along the periphery of the court, others stretched.
And at one basket, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird ran through some intense outside shooting drills. The former UConn teammates worked through a familiar rhythm, tapping hands after each finished shooting.
It could have been 15 years ago in Storrs.
