HARTFORD – Katie Lou Samuelson said she remembers having moments when she was a senior at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif., when the ball just wouldn't go in the basket. Still, the slumps were cameos because she is the reigning national player of the year.
So she wasn't surprised when during her first two regular-season games she was 3-for-11 from the field and 1-for-9 on three-pointers.
"It wasn't going to affect me," Samuelson said. "I'm just going to keep shooting."
