Getting into panfishing this time of year

With this warmer weather staying on and everything heating up, most of our fish species are now in some stage of spawning, making them shallow and vulnerable to angling efforts. Of course, bass are out of season with the "catch and release" season imposed until June 15, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a bounty of white and yellow perch, bluegills, crappies and other panfish species.
