Manager Joe Maddon believes it could take eight appearances for Rafael Soriano to be ready to join the Chicago Cubs.
Soriano took a positive step Monday night by striking out three in his organizational debut for Double-A Tennessee.
Soriano, 35, who saved 45 games for Maddon with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010, allowed a double to Joey DeMichele of Birmingham to start the fifth inning before proceeding to strike out Courtney Hawkins, the White Sox's first pick in the 2012 draft, Christian Marrero and Brian Fletcher.
