Mets' Matt Harvey Pitches Beyond Limits

NEW YORK — One way or another, the Matt Harvey innings saga will end this week. He will make his final start of the season in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday, though it's possible he could pitch a short relief stint if there is a Game 7.

"Regarding the innings stuff, I think that's taken care of," said Harvey, the righthander from Fitch High in Groton, "and, obviously, completely thrown out the window."

In his first season after recovering from Tommy John surgery, Harvey has pitched 208 innings, so when the World Series is over, he will be at about 215. He began the season with a rough guideline (according to the Mets) or a hard cap...
