Hosting Pilots players brings continued relationships for area families

Kenny Kyle received a phone call from Josh Silver about a week before Thanksgiving one year. Silver, a former Peninsula Pilots player who went to Lee University in Tennessee, didn't want to fly home to California for the holiday and was looking for a place to go. So he called his former host parents in Hampton. "I said, 'Josh, I told you yes. We'll find you a bus or get you on a train,'" Kyle said. Kyle found a cheap flight from Chattanooga to Norfolk, and his wife, Terrie, picked up Silver from the airport a few days before Thanksgiving.
