Miguel Montero’s left hand was heavily wrapped when he arrived Sunday morning at the Wrigley Field home clubhouse, but the Cubs will wait until full results of an MRI are disclosed to reveal what long-term steps they will take.

For now, catcher David Ross was activated from the seven-day disabled list, and outfielder Mike Baxter was optioned to Triple-A Iowa while Taylor Teagarden starts in Sunday’s first-half finale against the White Sox.
