Leake, Reds blank Cardinals, 4-0

ST. LOUIS Cincinnati first baseman Joey Votto's 418-foot three-run home run in the top of the sixth helped power the Reds to a 4-0 victory Tuesday night against the St. Louis Cardinals. With pitcher Mike Leake on second base and Brandon Phillips on first with two outs in the inning, Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia delivered a 1-0 pitch to Votto. The Cincinnati slugger cracked it over the center-field wall for his 19th home run of 2015. The Reds tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth to give them a 4-0 lead after Votto doubled and scored two batters later on Jay Bruce's single into right field.
