Bees starter Kyle Simon tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just one single and striking out four, but the bullpen did not fare as well as the Long Island Ducks pulled out a 5-2 Atlantic League victory Monday at New Britain Stadium.
The Ducks scored four times in the sixth inning off knuckleballer Colin Moberly and once in the eighth against Jarret Leverett.
Long Island starter Mark Blackmar also pitched five scoreless innings, striking out three and allowing just three hits in the win.
