Monday's recap: Royals 8, White Sox 3

White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon gave up a season-high three home runs over four-plus innings as the Royals surged to an 8-3 victory Monday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium.

Paulo Orlando and Alcides Escobar hit second-inning solo homers and Kendrys Morales added a three-run shot in the fifth inning that drove Rodon from the game.

The Sox lost all six series this season against the Royals and finished the year 5-14 against them.

At the plate

Jose Abreu hit a solo home run an estimated 438 to center field to even the score at 2-2 in the fourth. Justin Morneau doubled and Todd Frazier hit an RBI single for a 1-0 lead in the second.
