NEW BRITAIN — There will be a new team in town, but an old hand in the dugout.
"Don't let the 'independent' tag fool you," said Stan Cliburn, who will spend his 43rd summer of pro baseball wearing the gold and black of the New Britain Bees. "This is professional baseball. This is minor league baseball."
The Bees, who joined the Atlantic League, will play at New Britain Stadium.
The Double A franchise that was a fixture in New Britain since 1983 moves to Hartford to play in a new stadium as the Yard Goats.
