Top pitching prospect Lucas Giolito makes his big league debut for Washington against the NL East-rival Mets. Selected 16th overall in the 2012 amateur draft, the 21-year-old Giolito is 5-3 with a 3.17 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 71 innings at Double-A Harrisburg this season. "He's ready for the task," Nationals manager Dusty Baker said. A spot opened in Washington's rotation when ace Stephen Strasburg went on the disabled list Sunday with an upper back strain.
