After resting his sore, surgically repaired left shoulder for two weeks, Hyun-Jin Ryu will retake the mound for the Dodgers in a rehabilitation assignment on Sunday.
But the setback erased the progress he made during three starts in May. Ryu will throw two innings on Sunday for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga, and will require four more starts before the team will consider activating him, Manager Dave Roberts explained before Saturday’s game against the San Francisco Giants.
In essence, Ryu is back where he started on May 15, when he made his first rehab start.
